The Family Today

In “The family today” by Brown and hood, from Academic Encounters (2002). The article says that the traditional family have been decreasing in recent year in the US. However, new families are becoming popular now. There are three new types of families in the US.
First, Two career-families means that both of parents have jobs. Husband and Wife have to share their house works even if they are very busy in their job. But they often conflict with house works which doesn’t do or take care of their children very well.
Second, Single-Parent families means the parents are divorced or something that happened made them separate. The single-parent has huge economic pressure to keep their life very well. And the single-parent has to take much time to take care of his/her children.
Third, Stepfamilies means the parents are divorced and one of them remarried to make a new family. The stepfather or stepmother has to take much time to communicate with their stepchildren, who rebels against them and don’t trust their stepfather or stepmother.
In conclusion, there are three types of new families instead of traditional families in the US. There are some weakness and advantages in each type of family. The government has to think about some ideas to deal with their problems to make each family have a sweet family.
